1. Take an ‘awe’ walk

or a plant pushing

health and mood.
2. Easy swaps
Making drastic changes
during a period of
drastic change can be
unsettling. Instead,
incorporate small,
manageable, practical
changes, such as:
Season for flavour,
replacing salt with chilli,
paprika, garlic or herbs.
Drink decaf coffee
or herbal tea. Too
much caffeine can
make you jittery.
Replace meat with
mushrooms or lentils
for a healthier but just
as hearty alternative.
3. To the power of 10
Wait! Before you dish
a second helping or
reach for a doughnut,
count to 10 and ask
yourself, “Am I hungry?”
Many people eat when
they’re bored, frustrated
or stressed. Tuning in to
your true feelings helps
you make better,
healthier decisions.
4. Make a ta-da list!
Instead of a to-do list,
which is overwhelming,
a ta-da list celebrates
what you’ve actually
accomplished, how far
you’ve come and gives
you a sense of pride
and purpose.
5. Switch it off
Limiting screen time is
good for everything,
from better sleep to
reducing eye strain. Take
it a step further: cleanse
your timeline and the
people you follow with
the purpose of retaining
only positive, enriching,
empowering content.
GOLDEN BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE
Makes you feel good from the inside out!
3 bananas, chopped and frozen
1 pineapple or mango, chopped and frozen
¼ cup (25g) rolled oats
Juice (160ml) and grated peel of 2 oranges
1½ cups (375ml) coconut milk or low-fat
milk
1 small knob fresh ginger, grated
1 tsp (5ml) each ground cardamom,
turmeric, cinnamon and cayenne pepper
Honey, to taste
